Dear Colleagues, Ladies and Gentlemen,
We cordially invite you to the interdisciplinary conference

AN HOMAGE TO JIŘÍ LEVÝ / AD TRANSLATIONEM

which will take place on 26-27 October 2017
and which is organized by the
Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, Brno
Department of Czech Literature and Library Studies,
Department of Romance Languages and Literatures,
Department of German, Scandinavian and Netherland Studies,
Department of English and American Studies

in cooperation with the Moravian Library, Brno.

We hope the conference, held where Levý worked for several years, will provide a meeting place for a dialogue between all those who are inspired by the works of Jiří Levý.

We welcome proposals for twenty-minute papers in Czech, Slovak or English (German or French are also possible) in the fields of translation studies, literary theory and literary studies, theory of verse and comparative literature, or interdisciplinary studies, as well as presentations addressing the always topical question of the relationship between the humanities and sciences and talks focusing on the broader historical context of Jiří Levý as a person and his work and legacy.

Selected presenters may be invited to submit their presentations for publication by Masaryk University.

Social and cultural events programme will be offered to the participants.

The deadline for submitting proposals is March 31, 2017. An abstract of no more than 250 words should be sent to conference.jirilevy@gmail.com.
Please attach a short biographical note and your email address. The conference fee of €25 is payable at the registration desk upon arrival at the conference.
